MultiScope Air Traffic Control: Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 November 2026

MultiScope Air Traffic Control (the "Game") is developed by Dalí Klaassen & Pim van Gool ("we", "us"). These terms apply to the Game, its playtest builds, its online services (live weather, live traffic, in-game feedback, connecting your Discord account and the Playtester role) and its Discord community. By playing the Game or using these services you agree to them.

The Game is sold and delivered through Steam, so the Steam Subscriber Agreement also applies to your purchase, refunds and your Steam account. If these terms and Valve's conflict on those points, Valve's terms win.

1. Your licence to play

When you buy or are given access to the Game, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and play it for your own, non-commercial entertainment. The Game and its content remain ours; you receive a licence to use it, not ownership of it.

1a. No business or commercial use

The licence above does not cover use by or for a business or other organisation. Without a separate written licence from us, you may not use the Game:

Streaming and videos are covered separately in section 2. If you'd like to use the Game in a business or organisation, contact us for a commercial licence.

2. Videos, streams and screenshots

As an exception to section 1a, you are welcome to stream the released Game and to publish videos and screenshots of it, including on monetised channels, as long as you don't present it as your own work or imply that we endorse you. Playtest builds are different: please don't redistribute them, and check the rules in our Discord before publishing playtest footage.

3. Third-party components

The Game includes software and data from others under their own licences (for example the Godot Engine, Piper, eSpeak NG under the GNU GPL, and OpenStreetMap data under the Open Database License). They are listed in the THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES file that ships with the Game. Nothing in these terms limits the rights those licences give you over those components.

4. Acceptable use

4a. Multiplayer

5. Online services

Live weather and live traffic use real-world data from third-party sources that we don't control. That data can be late, incomplete or wrong, and the services may be slow, unavailable, rate-limited, changed or discontinued at any time. The Game remains fully playable without them. Connecting your Discord account, the Playtester role and our Discord are offered as a courtesy and may also change or end.

6. AI-generated content

Pilot voices are generated live on your computer by AI speech synthesis, and the optional Enhanced AI voice mode uses an on-device speech-recognition model. Both only work with the Game's own air traffic control phraseology and run offline; see the privacy notice for details.

7. Feedback

If you send us feedback, suggestions or bug reports, you allow us to use them to develop and improve the Game, without any obligation or payment to you.

8. Not for real-world use

The Game is a simulation for entertainment only. It is not a real air traffic control system and must not be used for real-world air traffic control, navigation, flight planning or pilot or controller training. Procedures, data and depictions are simplified, fictionalised and may be inaccurate. The Game is not affiliated with or endorsed by any airport, air navigation service provider, authority, airline or aircraft manufacturer.

9. Warranty and liability

The Game and its online services are provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we give no warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of them. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Suspension

If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we may suspend or end your access to the online services, playtests and our Discord. This does not affect your right to play a copy of the Game you bought, except where your use itself is unlawful.

11. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our privacy notice.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.

13. Changes

We may update these terms as the Game develops; the "last updated" date above will change with them. Changes don't take away rights you already have in a copy you bought.
